The Oracle Came Before I Did
I would typically take a group to Mount Sinai after initiation. Several years ago the Oracle of Siwa arrived in vision — loud through a whisper — and the map turned west.

The mountain I would usually choose
There is a pattern I trust.
After an initiation journey in Egypt, I would typically take a group to Mount Sinai. That mountain is an activation of its own. Desert. Climb. The Holy Valley. The kind of beginning that has called pilgrims for thousands of years. Sinai does not decorate a trip. It completes a threshold.
I still hold that mountain. It is taking form as its own pilgrimage. The map for this circle does not go east to Sinai. It goes west — because of a vision that arrived years before the itinerary.
Then the oracle arrived
Several years ago, the Oracle of Siwa came to me in a vision — before I had even visited the site.
It was so loud.
Not loud the way a city is loud. Loud through a whisper. The raw energy of a primordial civilization that would not stop. I kept asking it questions, deep in meditation, as if I were floating among several monks in an annual gathering — a circle that already knew the calendar of this work, even though my feet had never stood on that sand.
The questions were not tourist questions. They were precise. Location. Function. What remained unfinished.
When a vision is that exact, I do not decorate it. I take it to the person who can name the stone.
Tell me about the Temple of Amun-Ra
I asked my Egyptologist, Dr. Mohammed Anwer:
Tell me about the Temple of Amun-Ra. Where is it?
He said: it is in Siwa.
That is when I said we must go there.
There is unfinished work.
He did not invent the destination. The land had already spoken. He simply placed the name on the map I had already been walking in stillness.
Siwa Oasis. The Western Desert. The Oracle of Amun at Aghurmi — the hill where questions were once asked and answered, where Alexander came seeking what the Nile could not give him. I had not yet stood there. The oracle had already stood in me.
Unfinished work
Some journeys are chosen because they are expected — the mountain after the temples, the climb after the stone.
This one arrived the other way.
Unfinished work is not a phrase for a brochure. It is what remains in the field when a site has been calling across time and the body finally says yes. I do not claim the oracle as a title. I claim only this: I was asked, with a precision I could not ignore, to bring a small circle west.
The Egypt Initiation Journey still does what it came to do — Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile, private chambers, Winter Solstice on the plateau. After that density, the body asks for water. Integration is real. Sleep. Salt. Palms. The nervous system softening in ways stone cannot replicate.
And still: this is not only an exhale.
Integration, and also sacred
The Siwa Integration Edition is named for what the body needs after weeks inside ceremony. Rest. Water. Mystery. Community at the edge of the Great Sand Sea.
It is also a sacred journey.
Walked as the oracle.
Not as performance. Not as a costume of priesthood. As listening. As the same posture I was in when the vision came: questions asked in stillness, answers received without force, the land allowed to be louder than the itinerary.
Alexandria is the threshold — sea light, and what still lives below the waterfront. Siwa is the destination that named itself. Salt lakes. Sacred springs. The Fortress of Shali. The Temple of Amun. Places held in confidence for this circle, unnamed here on purpose.
If you come west with us, you are not collecting a second Egypt. You are entering the work that would not stop whispering.
If this is already alive in you
You do not need to have had the same vision. You need only to notice whether something in you leaned forward when the word *oracle* arrived — or when Sinai, which would have been the usual next mountain, was set gently aside for another time.
Mount Sinai remains. It is its own initiation. The unfinished work we walk this winter is in Siwa — the same call that arrived years ago.
If you are already considering the Egypt journey and feel the further call west, mention Siwa when you inquire. The practical shape of the extension — Alexandria, the oracle hill, the salt, the springs — is here.
The temples open the gate. The oracle asked what we would carry through it. I said yes before I had a ticket. The land can be that clear.
